The Change history on model pages had three problems. It left out most edits, it showed only the new value, and one fix applied to many configurations appeared once per configuration. On the Mac mini M4 Pro that meant 60 identical entries in a row, none saying which configuration they were about.
- Old and new values, side by side:
1,805 → 1,999instead of just→ 1,999. - Each entry names its configuration, numbered like the columns of the spec table above it. Clicking the name scrolls to that column.
- The same fix across many configurations is now one entry, such as "60 configurations", with the list one click away.
- Edits made during catalog maintenance are now visible. They appear as minipc-bot: spec corrections, port counts and merged duplicates. Before, they left no trace on the page.
Many of those minipc-bot edits were made with an AI assistant. Over the past weeks it filled in or corrected thousands of values across the catalog, working from manufacturer spec sheets, manuals and official product pages rather than from its own memory. Each value's source is logged. Where the documentation didn't settle a number, the field was left as "?" rather than guessed. Now each of those edits can be checked on the model page, and it can be rolled back if it's wrong. If you spot one, say so in the comments or fix it in the editor.
The details
The Mac mini M4 Pro went from 285 history entries to 73, and the Minisforum MS-A1 from 67 to 6. Most of the M4 Pro entries left are price updates. Each configuration's old and new price is different, so they stay separate rather than being merged into a summary that would be wrong for most of them.
Under the hood
The history store records the state of a configuration after each edit, not before it. The old value is therefore read from the previous recorded state of the same configuration. For the very first recorded edit of a configuration there is nothing earlier to compare with, so it shows only the new value. The history also used to keep the oldest 500 entries of a model and drop the newest. It now keeps the newest. Alongside the AI-assisted fixes, minipc-bot also covers scripted bulk changes, such as normalising Wi-Fi standards or re-linking configurations to the right processor.
