Until this week, most configurations in the catalog showed "?" for their USB, HDMI and DisplayPort counts: the numbers had simply never been documented. A pass through manufacturer spec sheets filled them in family by family.
- Port counts are now known on about 1,140 configurations, up from under 300. That covers roughly 550 models.
- Whole business lines are done: Intel and Simply NUC, Lenovo ThinkCentre, HP Elite and ProDesk, Dell OptiPlex, ASUS NUC and ExpertCenter, Minisforum and Morefine, plus the models people open most often.
- Wrong USB4 and Thunderbolt claims were corrected along the way, as were a handful of wrong processors.
- Several duplicate model pages were merged, and a few machines that were never sold were removed.
Where a manufacturer's documentation doesn't settle a number, it stays "?" rather than a guess. If you own one of those machines, you can fill it in on the model page.
The details
USB4 that wasn't there. HP's Elite Mini 800 and 600 (G6 and G9) were listed with a USB4 port. On those machines Thunderbolt is an optional Flex IO module, not standard, so 23 configurations now show zero. On the Minisforum MS-A1, USB4 exists only with the Phoenix-generation Ryzen chips, not with desktop Ryzen. The opposite happened too: the Minisforum M1 Pro gained its two USB4 ports and an OCuLink port, and the Simply NUC Topaz 11 now shows two USB4 ports instead of one.
Wrong processors. The NIMO MPL1W was listed with a Core i3-1115G4 because the listing's claim that it "beats the i3-1115G4" was read as its spec. It has an N100. The iProda MPC12P0YNA is an N100 too, not an N97. The ASUS ROG NUC 15 now shows the Core Ultra 9 275HX.
Merged and split pages. The Lenovo IdeaCentre Mini 5i and 7i Gen 8 are one product and now share one page. Eight ASUS RNUC14RV listings became the NUC 14 Pro and NUC 14 Pro Tall, and duplicate HP and Dell pages were folded into their main model. Going the other way, "Simply NUC NUC Pro" covered three hardware generations under one name. It is now NUC 11 Pro, 12 Pro and 13 Pro. Old links to merged pages no longer open.
Machines that never existed. A Morefine S600 with an i5-1240P, and Lenovo ThinkCentre M600, M720q and M73p Tiny entries with processors those models never shipped with, have been removed. So have the Intel NUC 9 Compute Elements, which are plug-in boards and not mini PCs.
Under the hood
How the counts are read: the USB-C count includes USB4 and Thunderbolt connectors, and a Type-C port that only takes power isn't counted. When a machine has swappable port modules (Lenovo punch-outs, HP Flex IO), only the standard set counts. When a manufacturer publishes a complete port list, a type that isn't on it is recorded as zero. Otherwise it stays unknown.
Every value came from the manufacturer's own page, spec sheet or manual, from an archived copy when the live page was gone, or from Intel's ARK database. Reviews were used only to settle contradictions. Each source is logged, so a number can be traced back to where it came from.
